Movement in Paint
- (Michelle Vantol)
Another class I took at OCAD was the colour concept course. We practiced mixing colours and worked with various colour wheels and charts form art based upon colour compisition. This oassignment was to create "feel" or movement".
I realised that when bright red and blue are right next to each other, no matter the shape, the eye can't handle the amount of bright colour side by side. If the picture is shaken slightly the red shapes in the centre almost seem to move.
This is my slightly abstract painting of two roller coaster cars going over a hill, with some embelished movement lines.
